Snow, spring and an honest days work

Hey there, everybody, Standing on the Ledge. How are y’all today?

Well, it’s the first day of spring, and what do we get? About two and a half to three inches of snow. Because apparently spring, at least around here, likes to arrive with a sense of humour.

And then there’s the price of gas. Almost a buck sixty a litre right now. That is enough to make a person look at the pump, look at the road, and wonder whether taking on that second job was such a brilliant idea after all.

Almost.

The truth is, I need the 40 hours a week, and this gives me 40 hours a week. Right now, that matters more than whether I like the extra driving or the cost that comes with it. Sometimes you do not make the perfect move. Sometimes you make the move that helps keep the bills paid, keeps the wheels turning, and keeps life pointed in the right direction.

And for now, this is one of those moves.

How are you today? How are y’all doing? Curious minds want to know.

On my end, I’m hoping to get a little more work done on getting those tools up that I was talking about earlier. I’ve also got a doctor’s appointment next week to renew prescriptions, so that is on the radar too. Nothing especially dramatic. Just the ordinary maintenance of life. The little things that may not make for exciting storytelling, but still matter a great deal.

There is not much really to talk about today, and maybe that is fine. Not every day has to be profound. Not every post has to come with a breakthrough, a lesson, or some grand realization. Sometimes life is just snow in March, expensive gas, a full work week, and trying to keep moving forward anyway.

And honestly? Things are going well.

I’m tired, but it’s a good tired. The kind that comes from putting in an honest day’s work. The kind that reminds you that, even when life is a little strange, a little frustrating, or a little more expensive than it ought to be, there is still something solid in knowing you showed up and did what needed doing.

There is something to be said for that. Maybe more than we give it credit for.

That’s it. That’s all for now.

Godspeed.
