Small Wins: The Power of Daily Rituals

Hello and welcome back to Standing on the Ledge.

It’s another new day full of fun and adventure.

It’s kind of funny. I warned my previous boss about things, which he did not take to heart. And I guess yesterday morning, he got his eyes opened, and all I can say to that is there is a popular saying right at the moment. I’ll try to use politically correct terms.

Frig around and find out.

Well, guess what? I guess you’re finally finding out. I warned you. And in some ways, schadenfreude kind of applies here. You were warned.

In other news

I finally heard back on… a situation and had to sit and take 24 hours to sit down and think whether or not I’m gonna follow through, and I am. I’ve got to sign that paperwork today and get that off to the people who need to get it off to.

And continuing on with the whole day’s rituals, little things to do to keep yourself sane.

Today, we are going to start off with our four-card spread.

And while I’m preparing for this, as I said yesterday, I set up one of my protocols and I followed through on it. Got some paperwork done. Small win for the day.

My book is still waiting. My second edition of my book is still waiting to be published. You can find that on Amazon.com and hopefully in another day or two, it is the second edition to Standing on the Ledge: Field Manual, Rebuilding from the Rubble. You can always check that out.

The five-minute ritual

Yes, and we did the five-minute ritual yesterday morning: sit down, have my coffee, take my medication. Kind of repeating that same ritual today. Maybe we’ll change it up a little bit and do something different.

Four-card spread

Okay, so on to the four-card spread.

  • Past: The Lovers
  • Present: Three of Pentacles (reversed)
  • Future: Eight of Cups (reversed)
  • Me (Querent): Ten of Wands (reversed)

Quick read, in plain language

Past – The Lovers: Not just romance. Choice. Alignment. A moment where values mattered, and a decision (or a bond) set the tone for what came next.

Present – Three of Pentacles (reversed): The teamwork card flipped on its head. Miscommunication, uneven effort, people not listening, or a system that looks organized on paper but falls apart in the real world. That’s… familiar.

Future – Eight of Cups (reversed): The “walk away” card, but reversed. Something tries to pull me back in, or I hesitate at the edge of a clean exit. Not necessarily weakness. Sometimes it’s unfinished business. Sometimes it’s just the brain bargaining with comfort.

Me – Ten of Wands (reversed): Putting the load down. Delegating. Dropping what was never mine to carry in the first place. If there’s a theme today, it’s this: stop hauling other people’s chaos like it’s your responsibility.

That’s it for that reading for today. Let’s see what we can come up with, dear ChatGPT, as far as stuff goes.

So, as I said, that’s it for today.

Godspeed. Have a good day.
